CLC Bio, RainDance Partner on Tailored Software

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – RainDance Technologies and CLC Bio will partner to develop software for analyzing targeted resequence data developed using RainDance's microdroplet technology, CLC Bio said today.

The software solution the companies develop will be interoperable with major next-generation sequencing systems, including ABI's SoLiD, Illumina's Genome Analyzer, and Roche/454 sequencers.

CLC Bio said that it first plans to expand its Genomics Workbench to enhance data analysis speed and efficacy when used with the RainDance RainStorm technology. The Danish firm said that in the future the partners plan to release specialized reports, data analyses, and workflow support for targeted resequencing research.

"Having decided to focus on high-throughput sequencing technologies several years ago, we're constantly monitoring the market to identify new and complimentary technologies being developed," CLB Bio CEO Thomas Knudsen said in a statement.
