Claude Benchimol has been appointed senior vice president of R&D at Invitrogen. Benchimol, who was most recently vice president and general manager of global technology for General Electric’s Medical Systems, Information Technologies division, will report directly to Gregory Lucier, Invitrogen’s president and CEO. John Carrino, who previously served as vice president of R&D for Invitrogen, will become the company's chief scientist.
