Cardiff University Buys Software Suite From Partek

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) — Partek yesterday said that Cardiff University in Wales has purchased a Partek genomics software suite.

Cardiff’s department of hematology will use the software to analyze gene-expression data and to predict survival rates in studies of myeloid leukemia.

Researchers in the department currently study the effects of specific molecular inhibitors on myeloid cell lines. They are also looking for ways to diagnose leukemia by gene profiling; they are trying to uncover novel markers for the disease; and are conducting a profiling study of AML and MDS in the elderly.
