British Cancer Biobank Licenses Labvantage's Sapphire Software

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) — The British national cancer tissue bank OnCore has licensed Labvantage Solutions’ Sapphire software to help manage its biobank, the company said today.
 
Labvantage said OnCore will use the software to help track and manage biosamples and to function as a secure, flexible portal through which researchers can access the biobank.
 
OnCore, a joint project between England’s Department of Health, the Medical Research Council, the National Cancer Research Institute, and Cancer Research UK, was formed to provide quality tissue samples, anonymous patient information, and other aids to researchers seeking to treat or prevent cancer.
 
Financial terms of the deal were not released.
