BioWisdom, Asterand Ink Data Syndication Agreement

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) — BioWisdom will integrate data from Asterand's gene expression profile database with its software under a new data syndication agreement, Asterand said today.

BioWisdom will harmonize with its software the data from Asterand's Target Evaluator database, which consists of quantitative human gene expression profiles that chart the expression of over 2,500 gene transcripts across a panel of 72 human tissues. These profiles are generated using human RNA and an RT-PCR protocol.

The data will be made available to public and private sources or used independently as raw data or as meta data, and it will be available as an entire dataset or sub-sets of selected targets and tissues.

BioWisdom CEO Gordon Smith Baxter said in a statement that this partnership is "the first of many we plant to secure" with data providers.

Financial terms of the agreement were not released.
