Biopython 1.43, 3i, UniVec

Biopython 1.43 is available here. This release includes new parsers for reading biological sequence files in various formats, an updated Blast XML parser, a new UniGene flat-file parser, and other improvements.

BioImagene has launched 3i, a web-based platform for developing imaging applications for digital pathology and drug discovery. 3i includes three modules: Image Management, Image Processing, and Image Analysis, along with services for integration and collaboration. The system includes the SIMS and TissueAnalytics platforms that BioImagene picked up in its acquisitions of Scimagix and Tissue Informatics.

The National Center for Biotechnology Information has released an updated version of UniVec, a non-redundant database of vector sequences. New sequences include 84 complete vector sequences and 36 adaptor, primer, and multiple-cloning site sequences.
