Biobase Inks China Distribution Pact

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – NeoTrident Technology will distribute Biobase's genomics databases and analysis tools in China, Biobase said today.

Under the agreement, the Beijing-based life sciences products company will distribute Biobase's Transfac database on transcription factors and their genomic binding sites, the HGMD database of human cell mutations, and the Explain and CellIllustrator analysis tools.

NeoTrident's Life Sciences Product Manager, Lin Yi, said the company also will provide bioinformatics support and services to Chinese customers.

"Our more than 300 customers, which include the largest pharmaceutical and petroleum companies and all major universities and research institutions in China, will benefit from this partnership," Yi said.

Biobase is headquartered in Germany and has operations in the US, Japan, and India.
