Axys Promotes Buckler To Oversee Company's Bioinformatics, Genomics

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--Axys Pharmaceuticals here has promoted Alan Buckler to the position of vice-president for molecular genetics, from senior director for genomics. In the new job he will be responsible for all aspects of the company's molecular genetics program, including bioinformatics, genomics, genetics, and engineering, Axys said. Buckler will manage a staff of more than 100 at Axys's La Jolla, Calif., facility, which was formerly Sequana Therapeutics. Buckler was a founding member of Sequana's scientific advisory board.
