Applied Biosystems announced that it will bundle Paracel’ s TraceTuner software with new shipments of its ABI Prism 3700 DNA Analyzer. Paracel will offer software maintenance and upgrades to new and existing ABI Prism 3700 DNA Analyzer and 377 DNA Sequencer users.

According to Applied Biosystems, TraceTuner will improve base calling and generate longer read lengths for the 3700. Celera Genomics and other undisclosed sequencing sites have tested the latest version of TraceTuner for more than a year.

Spotfire and LIMS supplier Thermo LabSystems of Cheshire, UK, announced a partnership to enable researchers using Spotfire.net to access data stored in Thermo’ s Nautilus LIMS. With Spotfire.net, Thermo customers would be able to view, analyze, and share data to collaborate across teams, departments, and geographies, the companies said. Spotfire said integrating the products would enable users to generate leads, fail flawed projects early, and make more informed decisions about their data, which will speed discovery and development.
