Alex Titomirov, Andrew Whiteley, Peter Staple

InforMax of Bethesda, Md., has found a replacement for founder and former CEO Alex Titomirov, who announced his plans to step down in October. Andrew Whiteley, previously vice president of bioinformatics at Amersham Biosciences, will succeed Titomirov as chairman, CEO, and president. Titomirov also resigned from the company’s board.

Burlingame, Calif.-based systems biology company BioSeek has tapped Peter Staple as CEO. Staple, most recently executive VP, chief administrative officer, and general counsel at Johnson & Johnson subsidiary ALZA, will be responsible for leading the company as it begins to apply its proprietary biology and informatics technology platforms commercially. Staple was also elected to BioSeek’s board of directors.
