NEW YORK – Swiss startup Abrinca Genomics has received CHF 150,000 ($177,000) from Venture Kick to help commercialize its microbial genomics data analysis platform, the VC firm said on Tuesday.
Abrinca will use the money to accelerate development of its OpenGenomeBrowser (OGB), a cloud-based microbial genomics analytical tool designed for industrial customers and academic researchers, as well as for sales and marketing and to "refine its business model," Venture Kick said.
Additionally, the funds will allow the University of Bern spinout to "cover operational costs to support scalable growth in microbial genomics research."
Abrinca said its target customers include microbial researchers across many sectors, including the food, nutrition, healthcare, biotech, and pharma industries.
