NanoString Technologies has released the nCounter mouse miRNA expression assay kit, a multiplexed assay for profiling the mouse miRNA transcriptome.

The kit allows researchers to perform "direct digital detection and counting of miRNAs at single-base resolution, without the need for amplification," the company said, and to perform "multiplexed profiling of more than 600 murine and murine-associated viral miRNAs in a single tube, with specificity and sensitivity comparable to qPCR."

Exiqon has introduced the third generation of its miRcury LNA microRNA labeling kit.

Called Hi-Power, the kit allows for the labeling of miRNAs for downstream hybridization to miRNA arrays and increases signal intensity of the labeling up to two fold.
