Bioo Scientific Receives NSF Grant to Develop miRNA Detection Technology

Bioo Scientific announced that it has received a $150,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to develop a technology to measure microRNA expression in living cells or tumor tissue.

According to the six-month grant's abstract, the technology will involve "a device based on a single-electron transistor to bind and measure the concentration of miRNAs," as well as "fluorescent probes designed to bind to miRNAs intra-cellularly and fluoresce upon recognition."
