Tm Bioscience s Sample Preparation Mechanism and Ashkenazi Jewish Panel and Biomosaiques Software s MosaiquesVisu

Tm Bioscience last week released a “sample preparation mechanism” allowing its Tag-It CFTR 40+4 and ASR genetic tests, which detect specific genetic disorders and other mutations, to use DNA isolated from dried blood spots, the company said. This week, Tm launched an Ashkenazi Jewish Panel that tests for eight different genetic disease states, including Tay-Sachs, Canavan, and Gaucher diseases, said the company. The panel is based on Tm’s Tag-It platform and run on the Luminex xMAP system, Tm added.

The MosaiquesVisu software product launched this week by Germany-based Biomosaiques Software produces “up to 1500” mass spectrometry spectra in “just a few minutes,” extracting time of flight spectra from “practically any” biological sample separated with an “appropriate” technique, such as HPLC or CE, the company said. Its MosaiquesVisuOnline product allows researchers to “accelerate accumulation” of proteomics knowledge “worldwide.”
