Foundation Medicine, an oncology-focused personalized medicine firm that launched in April, announced the appointment of Maureen Cronin to the newly created position of senior vice president of research and product development. In this role, Cronin will lead the development and advancement of Foundation's personalized cancer treatment tests.

Cronin joins Foundation from Genomic Health, where she spent nine years leading research and product development efforts in molecular diagnostics and oncology personalized medicine.
