Genome Express Gextrack and Applied Biosystems 7900HT Fast Real-Time PCR System


Genome Express will launch its Gextrack food-identification services next week, the company said. The Gextrack services will allow the detection, analysis, and authentication of food products, with emphasis on European product traceability, monitoring, and conformity, said the company in a statement.

Applied Biosystems this week launched its 7900HT Fast Real-Time PCR System, “the first fast real-time” system available in a 96-well format, “reducing thermal cycling times up to four-fold” over standard systems, said the company in a statement. The system can produce results in “approximately 35 minutes,” said the company. Users of ABI’s PRISM 7900HT Sequence Detection System can upgrade to the new system, the company added.
