A new version of the Ensembl genome browser, found here [http://www.ensembl.org], aims to make available to researchers information from “several large” experiments, including linkage disequilibrium data, said the European Molecular Biology Laboratory’s European Bioinformatics Institute and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute.

Eiken Chemical is launching three new Loopamp P450 Typing Reagent Kits: CYP2C19*2, CYP2C19*3, and CYP2C9*3 on Dec. 24. The products use Eiken’s loop-mediated isothermal amplification carry out SNP genotyping of cytochrome P450, the company said this week in a statement. One assay can be read in “about 35 minutes” using a fluorescent analyzer, Eiken said.
