Epicentre s TAQurate Real-Time PCR Master Mix, BioTrove s OpenArray Transcript Analysis and Thru-Hole, and Applied Biosystems LS*LIMS Software

Premium

Epicentre launched its TAQurate Real-Time PCR Master Mix this week. The mix is designed to simplify routine and high-throughput real-time PCR applications. It contains a detection and quantification dye, a proprietary enzyme blend “for highly specific and reliable amplification,” and a PCR Enhancer for “high amplification efficiencies and fewer nonspecific PCR products.”

BioTrove released its OpenArray Transcript Analysis system for high-density qPCR analyses, which allows for “more than 3,000 simultaneous nanoliter reactions” in through-holes. BioTrove’s Thru-Hole technology provides “high-throughput genomic analysis with maximum sensitivity and specificity — reducing reagent costs by using less sample in less time.”

Applied Biosystems introduced its LS*LIMS Software, a “workflow management and process automation” product that “increases lab productivity by integrating an expanding library” of ABI and third-party instrument interfaces, such as the ABI 3730 DNA Analyzer and the GeneAmp 9700, said ABI in a press release. The software also includes “drag-and-drop workflow editors” to support platforms such as TaqMan SNP Assays, and will expand to include other TaqMan assays and the SNPlex system, the company added.
