CombiMatrix has named Chris Emery and Lony Lim to serve as COO and VP of operations, respectively, of its CombiMatrix Molecular Diagnostic subsidiary.

Emery previously was a marketing manager with US Labs, a division of the Laboratory Corporation of America, and he was VP of sales and marketing at Response Genetics. Lim was director of scientific affairs, flow cytometry, and anatomic pathology at US Labs and scientific director of the division of immunology at Ameripath Specialty Laboratories, and he helped pioneer Luminex's xMAP technology, said CombiMatrix.

EPEMED, the European Personalized Medicine Diagnostics association, has named its founding board of directors.

Alain Huriez, CEO of TcLand Expression and the founder of EPEMED, will serve as chairman. Other board members include Mara Aspinall, president and CEO of On-Q-ity and the former president of Genzyme Genetics; Vincent Fert, president and CEO of Ipsogen; Werner Kroll, head of diagnostics research and innovation at Novartis Molecular Diagnostics; Iain Miller, senior director of oncology strategy and theranostics at BioMerieux; Herman Spolders, CEO of Oncomethylome Sciences; and Patrick Terry, founder of Genomic Health.

EPEMED was formed in August as a not-for-profit organization that aims to harmonize the development and implementation of diagnostics across Europe in order to foster personalized medicine.
