Response Genetics announced that Christine Meda is the firm's new president. Kathleen Danenberg, Response Genetics' previous president, will remain with the firm as its CEO.

Before coming to Response Genetics, Meda was president and CEO of molecular diagnostics company Arcxis Biotechnologies, as well as president and chief operating officer for the cancer diagnostics firm Diamics. She also founded and is president of RxDxLink, a consulting firm focused on early-stage and small biotechnology companies.

NanoString Technologies recently announced the appointment of J. Wayne Cowens as its chief medical officer. Cowens will be responsible for developing NanoString's molecular diagnostics pipeline in oncology.

Before joining NanoString, Cowens held various leadership positions at Genomic Health, including VP of clinical oncology.
