Hologic to Use Applied BioCode's Barcoded Magnetic Beads for Ag-Bio Tests

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Hologic will use Applied BioCode's technology to create multiplexed nucleic acid-based tests aimed at the agricultural market, Applied BioCode said today.

The license and supply agreement will enable Hologic to buy Applied BioCode's Barcoded Magnetic Beads, which have digital multiplex capabilities for up to 128-plex testing, the Santa Fe Springs, Calif.-based company said.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"Our partnership agreement with Applied BioCode enables us to address the growing need for increased throughput and cost containment through highly multiplexed testing in the agricultural testing market," Rohan Hastie, VP and GM of Hologic Molecular Diagnostics said in a statement.
