NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – DNA testing contract research organization GeneWiz today said that it has obtained Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments licensure and certificate of registration from New Jersey, allowing it to offer clinical genomic testing.
In addition to KRAS and EGFR tests, the company plans to continue developing CLIA-certified assays based on traditional platforms as well as new technologies, such as next-generation sequencing, it said.
GeneWiz added that it recently expanded its laboratory operations at its South Plainfield, NJ, headquarters to include a clean suite dedicated to processing clinical and preclinical samples. The laboratory will allow the company to expand its services into biologic drug and cell bank characterization testing, clinical trial investigations, and clinical diagnostic testing.
