NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Bioo Scientific and Jungwoo F&B are partnering in an effort to improve methods of cancer diagnosis and treatment, the Austin, Texas-based company said on Monday.
As part of the collaboration Bioo will develop kits for use on Jungwoo's Image Oriented Navigation Laser Microdissection Device imaging platform. Bioo will also develop kits for global microRNA profiling and for protein extraction for peptide analysis of tumor samples using mass spectrometry.
The collaboration results from the UT Gyeonggi Innovation Program, a partnership between the University of Texas at Austin and the Gyeonggi Province in South Korea to identify promising technologies developed in the region for introduction into the US.
Jungwoo is a South Korean firm specializing in the development of systems and tools for industrial automation.
Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
