LumiraDx Inks Deal with Audere for At-Home COVID-19 Test Collection Kit

NEW YORK – LumiraDx announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with digital health nonprofit Audere to offer an at-home COVID-19 specimen collection kit for use with LumiraDx's SARS-CoV-2 test.

Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Audere's testing solution, [email protected], can be integrated into lab systems using LumiraDx's SARS-CoV-2 RNA Star Complete test, the companies said in a statement. [email protected] contains authorized labeling instructions allowing labs to provide their own specimen collection kits, designed for their preference of kit registration, accessioning, and flexibility, with no additional usability studies, LumiraDx said.

Audere's kit is designed for the self-collection of anterior nasal swab specimens by people aged 16 and older and the collection of samples by adults for people aged 2 and older.

"By working with Audere, and providing remote collection, we further enable high-quality, cost-effective, convenient, and accurate testing that fits into the needs of the clinic and individuals," LumiraDx Fast Lab Solutions President Sanjay Malkani said in a statement.

Audere's [email protected] kit received Emergency Use Authorization from the US Food and Drug Administration earlier this month.
