Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics last week introduced the Siemens Tissue Preparation Solution, which the company claims is the first fully automated method for isolating nucleic acids from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue samples.

Promega has been awarded US Patent No. 8,039,613, "Methods of purifying a nucleic acid and formulation and kit for use in performing such methods."
Rex Bitner is named as inventor on the patent.

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Promega today announced that it has inked an alliance with Puracyp, under which the firms are combining their cell line and assay technologies in an offering to researchers.

IntegenX's forthcoming RapidHit 200 human identification system will include Promega's nucleic acid purification and short tandem repeat amplification reagents.

By integrating the STR reagents into the RapidHit System, human DNA profiles can be generated that are compatible with local, national, and international database systems, the companies said.
