The figure comes from a report commissioned by proteomics firm Proteome Sciences, which, like a number of other protein biomarker firms including Quanterix, Rules-Based Medicine, and NextGen Sciences, has made AD a significant focus of its R&D and commercialization efforts.

The bump in revenues comes amid a shift in the company's business model during 2010 to focus on "higher value, scalable projects."

With the deal, Myriad will acquire RBM's biomarker discovery platform as well as its pipeline of proprietary protein biomarker-based diagnostics, including two tests that a Myriad official said were "relatively close to commercial launch."
