Approximately 85 percent of a 51-member panel at the St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference supported the use of Oncotype DX to help decide which patients should receive chemotherapy.

The funds are part of a round targeting $14 million that will be used to grow the company.

The quintet of studies, presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting last week, could help support NanoString's diagnostic ambitions.

The project aims to develop high-content, multiplex assays capable of simultaneously detecting 35 National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases category A, B, and C viral agents, plus quantifying cytokine and chemokine responses in patients.
