The purchase brings an end, perhaps, to a convoluted series of moves concerning the joint venture, which included legal action, a settlement, and a sale to Danaher, all within the past three months.

The impending acquisition will give Danaher ownership of MDS' Molecular Devices business, which in turn sells the Axon GenePix line of scanners that are widely used by researchers.

The Roslin, UK-based firm, which sells instruments and software for printing arrays, has entered into a non-exclusive co-marketing arrangement with MDS. American Medical Link, meantime, has agreed to support and service Arrayjet instruments in the US and Canada.
