The companies are bundling their software and hardware with the goal of accelerating "DNA-to-diagnosis" time in clinical settings

The combined product includes Edico’s Dragen bioinformatics processor integrated into a Dell server, as well as Dell EMC’s Isilon storage.

Edico will make its Dragen platform available on new Amazon cloud instances, allowing users to scale up analysis capacity as demand for computing resources grows.

The institute recently launched rapid genome sequencing for critically ill newborns and plans to test genomic sequencing in several programs and clinical trials.

Edico Genome has also signed a deal for Johns Hopkins Genomics to evaluate its Dragen processor for its research and clinical sequencing needs.

GeneWiz will implement multiple Dragen processors to reduce turnaround times for its genomic data analysis services business.

The partners have implemented Edico's Dragen on one of IBM's Power Systems servers. Edico has also made the Broad Institute's GATK available on Dragen.
