The Boston-based molecular diagnostics firm intends to offer the test, called BronchoGen, as a service through its CLIA lab by the end of 2010. The firm is also mulling submitting the test, which is manufactured by Affymetrix, to the US Food and Drug Administration for clearance.

The SBIR funding may provide up to $2.8 million for a test for early stage lung cancer.
