People in the News: Robin Thurston, James Levine, and Irene Kourtis

Robin Thurston

Robin Thurston has been named CEO of Illumina's personal genomics spinoff, Helix. Most recently, he served as chief digital officer at Under Armour, where he defined the strategy of the company's Connected Fitness business. He is also a cofounder of MapMyFitness.


James Levine

Annai Systems has named James Levine its new CEO. He will take over from current CEO Michael Penley, who will now serve as Annai's chief business officer. Prior to joining Annai, Levine served as CEO of Sapphire Energy and Verenium Corporation. He has also previously worked as a managing director at Goldman Sachs.


Irene Kourtis

The Australian Genome Research Facility has appointed Irene Kourtis as CEO. Most recently, Kourtis served as CEO of Children First Foundation, a Melbourne-based charity providing lifesaving surgery for children from developing countries. She has also served as head of enterprise and business development for the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine.
