People in the News: Lars Boesgaard, Susanne Lalor, and More

Lars Boesgaard

Roka Biosciences has appointed Lars Boesgaard as vice president and chief financial officer. He succeeds Steven Sobieski, who will continue his association with the company as a senior advisor.

Boesgaard most recently served as vice president of finance. When he joined Roka in 2009, Boesgaard served as controller of finance. From 2007 to 2009, he served as vice president of finance at Insulet Corporation. Between 2004 and 2007, he served as senior director of financial services at Alexion Pharmaceuticals. Boesgaard has also served in various financial roles at the Nielsen Company and Novo Nordisk.


Susanne Lalor, Jane Nolan, Leandra Guedes da Silva

HiberGene has appointed Susanne Lalor as marketing director, Jane Nolan as research and development manager, and Leandra Guedes da Silva as distributor manager. Lalor joins from Roche Diagnostics where she held the international product manager position. Previously, she worked for TCoag and Trinity Biotech in Ireland. Nolan comes from DiaSorin where she held roles as product development team lead and senior research and development scientist. Guedes da Silva joined HiberGene as a business intern and was subsequently appointed to the distributor manager position. All three appointments come as HiberGene prepares to launch its first product, HG Meningococcus, a rapid test for bacterial meningitis, in November 2015.


Ronnie Andrews

Insight Genetics has appointed Ronald (Ronnie) Andrews to its board of directors. Andrews also joined the firm's investor base as part of a new $3 million investment round. Andrews is the former president of the genetic science division of Thermo Fisher Scientific, and he was president of medical sciences for Life Technologies before it was acquired by Thermo Fisher. Andrews has also served as CEO of Clarient until its sale to GE Healthcare and is a founder of The Bethesda Group, which works with companies to commercialize their technologies.
