People in the News: CombiMatrix Scientific Advisory Board, Jerry Williamson, and Anthony Mattacchione

CombiMatrix Scientific Advisory Board

CombiMatrix has appointed Brian Acacio, Matthew Goering, Lee Shulman, Thomas Westover, and Mandolin Ziadie to its recently formed scientific advisory board.

  • Acacio is a medical director and founder of the Acacio Fertility Center in Laguna Niguel, California. He is also a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and Pacific Coast Reproductive Society.

  • Goering is director of clinical embryology at the Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine at the University of Kansas. He is also an assistant professor at the University of Kansas in the department of obstetrics and gynecology division of reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and serves as a clinical consultant on in vitro fertilization and embryology for several laboratories.

  • Shulman is the Anna Ross Lapham Professor in obstetrics and gynecology and chief of the division of reproductive medicine at Northwestern University. He also works a practicing physician at Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation and is affiliated with Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

  • Westover is an assistant professor of maternal fetal medicine and obstetrics/gynecology at Cooper Medical School at Rowan University in Camden, New Jersey. He is the current vice chair of the NJ section of ACOG, the co-chair of the NJ Hospital Association Statewide Perinatal SAfety Collaborative, and a member of the ACOG District 3 Advisory Council.

  • Ziadie is director of placental pathology at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida, and is affiliated with the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.


Jerry Williamson

Metamark Genetics has appointed Jerry Williamson as its CEO. He succeeds Ken Weg, who will retain an active role as chairman of Metamark's board of directors. Williamson joined Metamark as chief commercial officer in 2015. Prior to Metamark, Williamson was a partner with Flagship Ventures. He has also served as vice president and general manager for Molecular Devices (part of Danaher), president of global commercial operations of Genetix, and president of Biocore.


Anthony Mattacchione

Bruker has named Anthony Mattacchione its new CFO, effective immediately. He has served as the firm's interim CFO since June 2015 and previously was Bruker's SVP of finance and accounting. Before joining Bruker, Mattacchione was CFO of EMD Millipore, a subsidiary of Germany's Merck KGaA. From 2006 to 2010, he served as controller and chief accounting officer for Millipore.
