Berkeley Lights' Beacon Platform

Berkeley Lights has launched its Beacon platform, which accelerates cell line development and empowers immuno-oncology research. The new platform is powered by BLI's OptoSelect technology, which enables the precise movement, positioning, and interaction of cells on an opto-fluidic chip. Its automated workflows can shorten the typical development timeline by as much as three months, the company said. The platform also enables researchers to work at a single cell level with B-cells, multiple types of T-cells, myeloid cells, and other cells of interest.

Bioline MyTaq Plant-PCR Kit

Bioline, a subsidiary of Meridian Bioscience, has launched MyTaq Plant-PCR kit. The product uses a novel buffer system that is highly tolerant to PCR inhibitors typically present in plant samples and circumvents the need for traditional, time-consuming extraction steps or additional PCR stabilizers. The kit comes in a single tube with pre-optimized protocol that is easy to automate, making it ideal for high-throughput applications such as genotyping and transgenic screening, the company said.

Empirical Bioscience Taq DNA Polymerase Labeling Storage Extension

Empirical Bioscience announced that its Taq DNA Polymerase is now labeled for storage at room temperature (15 ℃ to 25℃) for up to 30 days and for refrigeration at 4℃ for up to 90 days. Tests show that the product exhibits no detectable loss of function when stored and used under these conditions, the firm said, adding that the new storage and usage conditions also allow for easier and more accessible use in laboratories.
