Thermo Scientific Easy-nLC 1200 System and Acclaim PepMap NanoLC Columns

Thermo Scientific has introduced two new front-end products for liquid chromatography mass spectrometry: the Easy-nLC 1200 system and Acclaim PepMap NanoLC columns.

The Easy-nLC 1200 was designed for robust and reliable operation at 1200 bar. New maintenance-free ceramic valves decrease system downtime and tool-free nanoViper connections provide fast and reproducible fluidic connections over the complete flow path, Thermo said.

The new Acclaim PepMap nanoLC columns are designed to handle the 1200-bar pressure capability of the Easy-nLC 1200. In particular, the new 75-cm format provides high peak capacity intended to increase sensitivity and resolution. This capability increases the number of protein identifications for improved proteome analysis and LC-MS results, Thermo said.

Illumina BaseSpace Professional and Enterprise Editions

Illumina has added two new access options for its BaseSpace cloud infrastructure: BaseSpace Professional and BaseSpace Enterprise editions.

According to the company, BaseSpace Professional will provide multi-user access and automated app launch, while BaseSpace Enterprise offers improved security and convenience through individual domains, multiple-users and groups, and a single sign-on. The Enterprise edition will also include optional integration with GenoLogics' LIMS solutions.

Illumina has also updated BaseSpace Onsite, its on-premise version of the BaseSpace cloud. Version 2.1 offers more support for Illumina's sequencing platforms and now offers access to 25 apps up from 18 in the previous version.

HTG EdgeSeq Immuno-Oncology Assay

HTG Molecular Diagnostics has launched the EdgeSeq Immuno-Oncology assay for digitally measuring the mRNA expression of 549 genes implicated in the host immune response to tumors. Automated on the HTG EdgeSeq system, the research-use-only assay couples HTG's proprietary nuclease protection chemistry with next-generation sequencing. With the new assay, researchers can measure the expression level of drug targets, determine tumor infiltrate composition, and assess total immune cell composition using a single section of FFPE tissue, the company said.
