Cepheid Xpert Carba-R Update
Cepheid has announced the international availability of an update to Xpert Carba-R, with the addition of two newly emerging carbapenemase genes, OXA-181 and OXA-232. The molecular test also detects and differentiates among the five most prevalent mechanisms of carbapenem resistance, namely KPC, NDM, VIM, IMP-1, and OXA-48. The Xpert Carba-R cartridge now detects 91 resistance genes distributed among five distinct gene families, many of which are extremely difficult to detect by using conventional laboratory procedures, in less than an hour, Cepheid noted.
Oxford Gene Technology Cytocell Pathology FISH Probes
Oxford Gene Technology has added eight new probes to its portfolio of CytocellPathology FISH probes. The new additions include pathology FISH probes for 1q25, 1p36, 19p13, 19q13, ROS1-GOPC, and RET. OGT said that it also offers a large number of other probes, including hematology and hematopathology probes, as well as whole-chromosome and murine chromosome painting probes. Cytocell FISH probes provide bright signals for accurate scoring leading to consistent results, backed up by full evaluation support from OGT, the company said.
Cellular Research Whole-Transcriptome Single-Cell Precise Assays
Cellular Research has launched an early access program for its whole-transcriptome single-cell precise assays. These assays combine molecular and sample indexing in 96- and 384-sample formats, enabling customers to sequence up to 4,608 samples in one run. The assays, based on Cellular Research's molecular indexing technology, offer absolute quantification and bias-free expression information, Cellular Research said in a statement. Cellular Research also states that these assays require no expensive dedicated laboratory equipment and the sequencing library is compatible with any Illumina sequencer.
