South Korean Firms Join Life Technologies Ion AmpliSeq Exome Certified Service Provider Program

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Thermo Fisher Scientific announced three South Korean companies have joined the Life Technologies Ion AmpliSeq Exome Certified Service Provider program.

The firms are Macrogen, Theragen Bio Institute and, as previously announced, DNA Link. In total, the CSP program has more than 36 members, Thermo Fisher said.

In order to be a CSP for AmpliSeq exome sequencing, service providers must demonstrate that they can generate at least 30 million reads per exome using 50 nanograms of starting DNA, cover 88 percent to 90 percent of the exome at 20x, and do the sequencing for an all-in reagents cost of $400. Additionally, providers must be able to sequence two exomes in one two-hour run with a total turnaround time of two days.
