RainDance Technologies has appointed Laura Deming to senior vice president of product development and Joseph Malandrakis to senior product development counsel.

In her new role, Deming will oversee long-range product planning and provide leadership for product strategy, development, and delivery. She has more than 25 years of experience in the field. Prior to RainDance, she was vice president of research, development, and operations at medical device startup WaveRx. She has also held senior product development and R&D roles at life science and diagnostics companies including Cytyc, PerSeptive Biosystems, and Millipore. She holds a BS in chemistry from Bridgewater State College, an MS in chemical engineering from the University of Lowell and an MBA from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Malandrakis previously served as vice president of global services and solutions at Applied Biosystems (now Invitrogen), as well as vice president of worldwide operations at ABI parent company Applera. He holds an MBA from the University of Bridgeport and a BS in industrial engineering from the New York Institute of Technology.
