In connection with its recent Series A financing (see news brief, this issue), Stratos Genomics has disclosed the names of several of its officers, directors, and scientific advisors.
Company co-founders are CEO Allan Stephan, chief scientific officer Mark Kokoris, and chief technology officer Bob McRuer.
Stephen Rose, managing director of Fisk Ventures, joins the company's board of directors in connection with the funding round. The other directors are Kokoris, McRuer, Harold Kawaguchi, Lee Huntsman, and Heiner Dreismann.
Stratos Genomics' science advisory board includes Larry Loeb, Robert Franza, Andre Marziali, Eugene Kolker, Patrick Stayton, Jay Shendure, and Buddy Ratner.
Consulting and services firm FLG Partners has added former Solexa chief financial officer Linda Rubinstein as a partner. Previously, she was a principal at RDJ Advisors. Rubinstein holds a BA and an MA degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
NeoStem has appointed former Life Technologies manager Ian Zhang as president and managing director of NeoStem China. Previously, he was head of Asia Pacific integration at Life Technologies, where he served on the steering committee managing the acquisition and integration of Applied Biosystems. He is also the former head of corporate development for Asia Pacific at Invitrogen. Zhang holds a PhD in biotechnology from Simon Fraser University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
