New Products: Ion Torrent's AmpliSeq Panels

Premium

Life Technologies' Ion Torrent has launched its Ion AmpliSeq Comprehensive Cancer Panel and Ion AmpliSeq Inherited Disease Panel. The CCP is optimized for use on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue and uses more than 16,000 primer pairs to target over 400 genes involved in tumor formation. It requires 40 nanograms of DNA and costs as low as $1,169 on the 318 chip including library, template preparation, and sequencing.

The inherited disease panel targets 328 genes associated with 178 Mendelian diseases and enables detection of both known and de novo mutations. It costs around $640 per sample on the 318 chip including library, template preparation, and sequencing.
