RainDance Technologies has expanded the primer library used with its Sequence Enrichment Solution and RDT 1000 system from 4,000 to 20,000 amplicons. The new libraries will be available to customers in the first quarter of 2010. The company now also supports whole-genome amplified DNA samples for targeted resequencing, allowing researchers to start with smaller amounts of DNA, such as those found in tumor biopsies. Its WGA protocol has been validated using kits from Qiagen, GE Healthcare, and BioHelix.

GATC Biotech now offers human genome sequencing services using SureSelect target enrichment and on-array DNA capture technologies from Agilent Technologies and sequencing on Roche GS FLX and Illumina Genome Analyzer IIx instruments. The company said it also offers complete human genome resequencing and bioinformatic analysis.
