NuGen Technologies has released its Ovation RNA-seq System for use with Roche's GS FLX and GS Junior systems. The system uses NuGen's proprietary isothermal linear amplification products and the GS FLX Titanium cDNA Rapid Library Preparation protocol. According to the companies, the sample prep system is particularly suited for small and degraded RNA samples.

New England Biolabs and Sequenom have launched the EpiMark Methylated DNA Enrichment Kit, which was developed under a co-marketing and licensing agreement. The kit utilizes Sequenom's methyl-CpG immunoprecipitation technology to enrich for methyl-CpG DNA from as little as 5 nanograms of DNA, which can then be used in applications such as sequencing or microarray analysis, according to NEB.

Complete Genomics has added 29 complete human genome sequences to its public genomic repository, bringing its total to 69.

The newly available datasets include the previously announced Puerto Rican trio from the National Human Genome Research Institute repository and a 17-member, three-generation CEPH pedigree from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences repository, as well as nine ethnically diverse samples from the NHGRI Repository.

Most of these samples have been previously analyzed as part of the International HapMap Project or the 1000 Genomes Project.
