By a GenomeWeb Staff Reporter

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Ambry Genetics has become a certified service provider of Ion Torrent's DNA sequencing system, the companies said today.

Ambry has become the first certified provider for Ion Torrent's Personal Genome Machine, a semiconductor-based genome sequencing system, in Ion Torrent's new service provider program.

Ambry Genetics' CEO Charles Dunlop said in a statement that his firm has been using the PGM for about six months and that it "has the ability to change the way sequencing is done."

Ardy Arianpour, Ambry's VP of business development, said that the company is "currently taking orders and lining up customers" for its PGM services.
