BGI Extends Offer for Complete Genomics Until March 14

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – BGI said today that it has extended its cash tender offer for Complete Genomics until 11:59 PM EDT, March 14.

The deadline for the approximately $118 million deal, which has been extended numerous times, previously had been midnight EST March 1. Last week BGI said that the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China had approved the deal but that it was still awaiting approval by China's State Administration of Foreign Exchange.

The depositary for the offer has indicated that as of the close of business on March 1, more than 30.7 million shares, or 87 percent, of Complete's stock had been validly tendered and not withdrawn, BGI said.
