Ambry Becomes First Certified Service Provider for Ion Torrent's PGM

Premium

Ambry Genetics will be the first authorized customer-service provider for Ion Torrent's Personal Genome Machine, the companies said this week.

Under Ion Torrent's new service provider program, CSP certification means that the organization has been trained and tested by Ion Torrent to produce high-quality sequence data.

Ambry was an early-access user of the PGM, and the company is "now taking orders and lining up customers" for sequencing, Ardy Arianpour, Ambry's vice president of business development, said in a statement.

He added that since the PGM was launched, the company has received "numerous requests to sequence various types of samples."

Ambry CEO Charles Dunlop said in a statement that the company has been generating data with the PGM for six months and is "excited about launching services on this platform."
