PerkinElmer to Distribute Sebia Newborn Screening System

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – PerkinElmer has signed an agreement to serve as the exclusive global distributor for Sebia's Capillarys 2 Neonat Fast system for labs conducting newborn screening.

The capillary electrophoresis system enables fully automated hemoglobin newborn screening from dried blood spot samples. It is used to test for hemoglobinopathies, such as sickle cell disease.

"Sebia's offering complements our hemoglobin screening portfolio by providing laboratories with an automated option, which can help them obtain clinically actionable information and insights to achieve better outcomes," Prahlad Singh, president of diagnostics at PerkinElmer, said in a statement.

Terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.
