Horizon Diagnostics, Diatech Reach Distribution Deal for Molecular Reference Standards

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Diatech Pharmacogenetics will exclusively distribute Horizon Diagnostics' molecular reference standards under an agreement announced today.

As part of the deal announced by Horizon Diagnostics, a division of Horizon Discovery, Diatech will be the sole distributor of the molecular reference standards in Italy, San Marino, and Vatican City.

According to UK-based Horizon Diagnostics, the availability of validated reference materials will provide an industry standard for the development and quality control of molecular assays and improve their accuracy. Its molecular reference standards include FFPE cell line blocks, purified gDNA, and the recently released Quantitative Multiplex DNA Reference Standard for the assessment of multiple biomarkers in a single assay using platforms such as next-generation sequencing.

Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
