Genetic Technologies Settles Patent Infringement Lawsuit with Genetics & IVF Institute

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Genetic Technologies today said that it has settled with Genetics & IVF Institute over a lawsuit in which GTG claimed patent infringement.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

Today's announcement follows a similar deal announced on Monday by the Australian company that it reached an agreement with PreventionGenetics to settle a separate lawsuit that GTG lodged against that firm. GTG also said that it inked a licensing agreement with PreventionGenetics.

GTG sued Fairfax, Va.-based Genetics & IVF in late September alleging infringement of US Patent No. 5,612,179 covering GTG's non-coding DNA technology.
