Accuri Cytometers has launched the Accuri C6 flow cytometer system, the company announced this week.
The Accuri C6 flow cytometer system is a two-laser, six-detector analytical system that includes the C6 flow cytometer, CFlow Software and a PC.
The C6 flow cytometer system has detectors to capture both forward and side-scattered light, as well as four fluorescent detectors equipped with user-replaceable optical filters.
Accuri has redesigned the hardware, user interface, and analysis software of the C6 system. The company teamed with Ann Arbor, Mich. -based software firm Menlo Innovations to develop the system’s analysis software.
The C6 flow cytometer works with all existing reagents and protocols, the company said.
ibidi has released a new carrier for angiogenesis assays, the µ-Slide Angiogenesis, the company announced recently., the company announced recently.
The most established assays used to analyze new vessel formation in vitro are the tube formation and the sprouting assay. In both cases, the formation of new blood vessels is simulated on a gel matrix.
“We have developed a ‘well-in-a-well’ structure … Via the miniaturized system of the inner well, the required amount of matrix is reduced to a value of 10 µL. The geometry of the slide places the cells that need to be imaged in the same focal plane, which strongly improves the imaging quality of the assays,” Roman Zantl, head of R&D at ibidi, said in a statement.
The product was launched at Analytica 2008, held in Münich April 1-4.
