West Cancer Center Joins Caris Life Precision Medicine Network

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Caris Life Sciences today announced that West Cancer Centerhas joined the Caris Centers of Excellence for Precision Medicine Network. 

As a network member, the Memphis, Tenn.-based cancer research and comprehensive care center will participate in the development of standards of care and best practices for integrating and using molecular profiling in cancer practice. Caris launched the network in January. WCC will also use Caris Molecular Intelligence, a molecular tumor profiling service to identify therapy options and clinical trials. 

In addition, Caris said that WCC Medical Director Lee Schwartzberg has been appointed vice chairman of the network to co-lead the development of standards and best practices for incorporating profiling into cancer care. He also will participate in efforts to create a cooperative group of academic and community-based practices, Caris said.
